Community Benefits Survey

Welcome to the Community Benefit Survey for the Winston Road Neighbourhood!  We are going to be asking a few questions to better understand your preferences regarding community benefits and gain a bit of insight about you.

But first, we would like to introduce you to some possible community benefits.

Open Space or Parkland

  • New parks or open space
  • Enhanced Infrastructure (i.e., recycling, lighting, signage)
  • Facilities  (i.e., covered pavilion, washrooms, benches, tables, fountains)
  • Activity areas (i.e., swings, play equipment, games such as chess)
  • Passive Areas  (i.e., trails, places to sit and/or visit)
  • Sports Facilities  (i.e., pickleball, baseball, volleyball, multi-use fields and areas)
  • Specific purpose  (i.e., dog park, stage and seating, skateboard park, floating docks)
  • Visitor Parking

Community Facilities (i.e., daycare, libraries, multi-purpose space for community gatherings or events, indoor recreational facilities, community rental space for non-profit organizations)

Beautification and Design

  • Public Art (i.e., murals, sculptures, painting of infrastructure such as streets)
  • Streetscape improvements  (i.e., benches, sidewalk treatments, lighting, banners, signage)
  • Place-making (i.e., community boards, street clocks, distinctive features such as signage that tell a story)
  • Environmentally Friendly Design

Getting Around (i.e., bike racks and lanes, sharing programs such as bike or car, trails and paths)

Conservation and Preservation of Cultural Heritage Resources (i.e., signs that outline the story behind a feature or provide wayfinding to show the features in an area)

Additional land for municipal purposes (i.e., parks and open space, environmental protection, parking, community facility space)
