The Official Plan is the result of a significant review and conformity exercise to ensure that the policies within the Official Plan reflect current provincial legislation and policy direction, address local planning matters, and respond to community priorities, goals, and objectives.
The Official Plan is a long-term, strategic land use planning document that guides future land uses, promotes community sustainability, and guides decision making and support community building over the next 25 years. The Plan guides decisions related to housing, employment, infrastructure, agriculture, heritage, parks, recreation, and environmental protection while providing the policy framework for the zoning by-law and other planning tools.
