Overnight Paving Work Scheduled for Main Street East and Elm Street Starting September 27

Pavement restoration is scheduled to begin Sunday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. in areas where watermain installation has been completed along Main Street East and Elm Street.

To advance the schedule and minimize the overall length of construction impacts, two paving crews will work alternating shifts around the clock.

Work Schedule

  • Sunday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m.: The night paving crew will begin at Robinson Street and Main Street East, working toward Elm Street. This work will require a full road closure from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., similar to the closures in place during watermain installation.
  • Monday, September 28 during the day: The daytime paving crew will begin at Elm Street and Main Street West, working toward Mountain Street.
  • Monday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m.: The Main Street East paving crew will resume overnight work.
  • Crews will continue alternating between overnight work on Main Street East and daytime work on Elm Street, with all paving anticipated to be completed by end of day Tuesday, September 29.

The overnight watermain installation work on Main Street East is now complete, aside from final connections. These remaining connections will be completed at a later date during daytime hours.

We recognize that nighttime construction can be disruptive, particularly for residents and businesses located close to the work zone. Local access for residents and businesses within the work area will be maintained throughout the paving work, where safely possible. The round-the-clock paving approach is intended to complete the remaining restoration work as quickly as possible and minimize the overall duration of construction impacts in the area.
