Downtown Reimagined Project Update – September 25, 2026

Overnight watermain installation on Main Street East is now complete, and crews have moved onto Rossmore Avenue.

Pavement restoration begins Sunday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m.on Main Street East and Elm Street and is expected to be completed by end of day Tuesday, September 29, weather permitting. Crews will work alternating daytime and overnight shifts:

  • Sunday night: Main Street East, Robinson Street to Kingsway Boulevard
  • Monday daytime: Elm Street, Main Street West to Mountain Street
  • Monday night: Main Street East, Kingsway Boulevard to Elm Street
  • Tuesday daytime: Elm Street, Mountain Street to Main Street East

Please note: Main Street East will be fully closed overnight from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with local access maintained where safely possible.

To help ensure those most directly impacted are aware of the upcoming overnight work, notices were hand-delivered today to affected properties along the work area. We recognize that overnight construction can be disruptive and appreciate the continued patience and understanding of residents and businesses as this necessary work moves forward.

Starting as early as Tuesday, September 29, watermain work will move to Main Street West, while drilling begins on Rossmore Avenue.

Thank you to everyone who joined the virtual construction information session on Wednesday, September 23. In case you missed it, you can watch the recording here.

Don’t forget! The Construction Passport wraps up Wednesday, September 30 – last chance to pick up your passport and collect your stamps before the program ends.
