June 18 - Meet the Machines at the Grimsby Farmer’s Market
In partnership with the Downtown Grimsby BIA and the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce, we’re excited to bring together Meet the Machines to the Farmer’s Market!
This family-friendly event offers residents a safe, hands-on opportunity to see some of the equipment that will help shape the future of downtown Grimsby while learning more about the project and meeting members of the project team.
Date: Thursday, June 18, 2026
Time: 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Location: Main Street East & Ontario St, Grimsby, ON L3M 5P7
Week of June 22 - Construction Staging Begins
The contractor will begin mobilizing equipment in preparation for construction.
Initial activities will focus on bringing equipment and supplies to the area, setting up a project staging area and site office. You can expect to see various project signage beginning to go up around the area.
Week of July 6 - Construction Begins
Construction is expected to begin the week of July 6th, marking the official groundbreaking and a huge milestone in our journey towards reimagining the downtown.
The contractor is expected to begin construction on Elm Street near Gibson Street, working their way easterly towards Main Street East (near the TD Bank) over the course of a few weeks.
We will be providing more details about the construction, including the timing of the work, potential traffic impacts, road detours, etc. in the coming weeks.
NEXT STEPS
We recognize that a project of this scale brings temporary changes to daily routines, and we remain committed to providing clear, timely communication throughout construction.
Our goal is to make this process as predictable and manageable as possible while delivering long-term improvements that will benefit residents, businesses, and visitors for generations to come.
Thank you for your continued patience, partnership, and support as we work together to reimagine downtown Grimsby.
