Downtown Reimagined Project Update – August 7, 2026
Another productive week has passed for the Downtown Reimagined Project. Crews have wrapped up watermain and service installation on Elm Street, west of Mountain Street, with only testing, final connections, and restoration left to complete at a later date. The team has since shifted east of Mountain Street, where they're now installing watermain and sanitary laterals as they work toward Main Street East. Because that work sits close to the Elm Street and Mountain Street intersection, traffic control and police presence remain in place to keep everyone moving safely through the area until there's enough of a buffer to safely re-activate the traffic lights.
Next week, that installation continues on Elm Street east of Mountain Street, and crews will also complete a section of watermain in the Balsam Lane parking lot.
Comedy Nights kicked off at Coronation Park this week, with more laughs on the way every Wednesday in August. Music in the Park runs every Thursday through August 20, the Construction StoryWalk continues through August 28, Movies in the Park returns August 7, 14, and 28, the Construction Passport runs through September 30, and the Grimsby Farmers' Market is open every Thursday at its temporary location Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre behind Town Hall through October 8.
